The Walking Dead #27 (CGC 8.5)

This comic is a no fucking brainer. If you see it, you want it. Simple as that. Not only is it a low numbered comic from The Walking Dead it's the first appearance of the Governor. Walking Dead comics are hot as hell to being with. These days, Walking Dead comics are like Macs in that they always keep their value. The difference is the Dead comics sometimes go up and up. This book has always been hot. Everyone knows of the Governor, be it fans of the comic or the show. He's possibly the one of the top five, if not top ten, villains of all time. Top five for me to be honest. In any medium. I'm talking book/.comics, film etc. He's that popular... and that evil. He's everything you would hate to meet alone and he doesn't give two shits about it. From brutally raping a fan favorite character to chopping off the hand of another fan favorite character, the Governor's fictional reputation precedes him everywhere.

It's a hot book and still fetches ridiculous prices in a bunch of auctions (at a higher grade but still). Even at an 8.5 I'm confident to make a profit on it were I to sell it. I'd easily make back my money and then some.

It makes me want to pick up my compendiums and re-read the prison/Governor arc all over again. Kirkman's story was absolutely surreal in its brutality and Charlie Adlard, while not the greatest, or a McFarlane or Capullo (sorry Charlie, McFarlane's my childhood hero), he's fucking awesome. I absolutely love Adlard's style. It's great. It's consistent. It's simple. And is always easy on the eyes.
